A truely Hall of Fame Weekend

August 4th, 2008 · No Comments

Sometimes everything just seems to fall into place just right, and without a ton of effort on anyone’s part.  Not often but this past weekend was such an occasion…  As the wedding draws closer my groomsmen have been looking for something worthwhile and memorable for a bachelor party and being a huge Redskin, and football fan we really lucked into a great time.
The itinerary was a typical ballgame roadtrip;

  1. Fri night dinner at Cantina Marina in SW DC, then drive to Pittsburgh (sleep at my Dad’s house)
  2. Sat get up drive to Canton, OH – home of the NFL Hall of Fame and enjoy the festivities, tailgate and watch Art Monk and Darrel Green (two of the all time greats from the Gibbs era Skin’s teams) be inducted into the Hall of Fame
  3. Sun back to Canton to tour the actual Hall of Fame, tailgate most of the afternoon (touring the National Guard Apache and Chinook helicopters) and meet up with my Dad for the Hall of Fame Game which this year featured the Redskins vs Colts.
  4. Cannonball Run from Canton to SE DC… rolling in around 0430, and making it to work (well not on time) on Monday!

For anyone who saw the game it was really a great one for a pre-season game, but the best part of the weekend was hanging out with Ryan, Andrew, Rob and my Dad.  Great trip, enjoy the pictures!

Monk and Green, going to the Hall of Fame National Guard Apache Longbow, on hand for the fly over Andrew is ready to jump!

Weee little Rob - the Chinook just missed him... In the stadium Sat night for the HOF Induction Ceremony Tres amigos!
