Actually a nice little weekend, and no it did not include Home Depot or Bed, Bath and Beyond… I promise!
Erika is partying it up in FL w/ ‘Team Pink’ (the Florida Bridesmaids) and Jamie (her maid of honor) so I had DC all to myself! DC and alot of Northern VA to be exact. Friday night was a great time at my friend and co-worker Alex’s rooftop birthday party in NW, very close to the old place at Logan Circle actually. I showed a couple new friends some local favorites including Stoney’s Bar and Grill on P St and Veranda at 11th and P St.
Sat was a bit lazy I have to admit, but Stav and I did make some progress on the wedding invites and determine that Andrews AFB does not actually sell liquor anymore. (you don’t see any NAVY bases with that problem!!! Even the YP basin at the Naval Academy has a Package Store). I finished strong though w/ a complete formatting and reloading of Vista on my home computer, not for any particular problem, more as a bi-annual preventative measure and then made it out to Rob and Rhapsody’s new place in South Riding, VA.
South Riding is actually very close to where I grew up in Centreville but is very new, planned community to the infinite power. The houses are very nice looking and Rob and Rhapsody’s is enormous. I am very jealous of his new garage.
Sunday has been great so far though I am a bit scarred. The morning brunch and Wii playing at Jen’s was great, excellent eggs! I just returned from moving my old pool table from storage in my Mom’s basement to my Grandmothers basement for use by the many grandkids.
It is a bittersweet moment b/c I have alot of fond memories of that pool table but I truely can’t use it for any time in the forseabel future here in DC so I’m glad it will get used there. The more bitter part was breaking a piece of my Uncle Stan’s bumper off, breaking off a toenail and gouging my leg on the tailgate of his truck… but it’ll heal up.
Hope everyone else’s weekend went well. In true cool guy style I added some more early college pics to my Facebook profile… good stuff !
